Sainsbury's pay offer falls short of the £10 per hour aim - Usdaw says staff deserve better

Retail trade union Usdaw is disappointed that the Sainsbury’s and Argos 2021 pay offer does not meet the £10 per hour aim of the union’s New Deal for Workers campaign. The company has offered an increase to £9.50 per hour, which falls short of the deal Usdaw negotiated with Morrisons to pay staff £10 an hour from April.

High street pharmacy Boots have announced a further restructure of their head office in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. Usdaw is calling on the company to enter into talks with the union.

TUC LGBT+ Conference 2021: Usdaw highlights the impact of the pandemic on LGBT+ workers and seeks to address inequality

Retail trade union Usdaw has a delegation of members and officials attending this year’s online Trade Union Congress (TUC) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Plus (LGBT+) Conference, which starts today and closes tomorrow. Usdaw is highlighting the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on LGBT+ workers and seeking to address longstanding inequality issues that have been entrenched still further by the crisis.

Crimestoppers Scotland joint campaign to stop abuse of shopworkers welcomed by Usdaw

Non-essential stores could reopen on 12 April - Usdaw calls on customers to follow the rules and for retail staff to be prioritised for vaccination

Retail trade union Usdaw is calling on customers to follow the rules and respect shopworkers, as non-essential stores in England could reopen on 12 April, according to today’s roadmap out of lockdown. Usdaw also urges the Government to ensure shopworkers are high on the priority list for vaccination.

Jane Jones is elected the new President of Usdaw

Usdaw victory blocks Tesco 'fire and rehire' tactic - Scottish Court of Session rules in favour of workers affected

Retail trade union Usdaw has today won an interdict in the Court of Session in Edinburgh against Tesco forcing some of the staff at the Livingston distribution centre onto a new contract, which would result in the affected staff losing between £4,000 and £19,000 per year.
