Digital Champions

The Digital Champion need not be an Information Technology expert but it is someone who has managed to get online and with some support and training can use their skills and experience to help friends, colleagues and members of their community to make those first steps to get online.

The Role
It is a voluntary role and will work as part of a team to support friends and colleagues to:

  • Raise awareness

  • Promote digital inclusion in their workplace

  • Run 121 or small group sessions

  • Keep up-to-date on new opportunities

  • Demonstrate how to stay safe online

  • Signpost learners to improve their digital skills

  • Advise learners on sources of ICT equipment and connectivity

  • Share good practice with other Digital Champions

  • Keep records on learners’ attendance and progress

All champions will attend a 1 day training course.
