The Government proposed the amendment after years of opposition to Usdaw’s campaign for a new law to protect shopworkers. Government protection of workers amendment is a step in the right direction – Usdaw is urging Ministers to go further 14 December 2021 Shopworkers’ trade union leader Paddy Lillis is this afternoon meeting Justice Secretary Dominic Raab, along with leading retailers, to discuss the Government’s plans to legislate to protect workers from violence, threats and abuse at work. Usdaw will study the detail of a Government amendment on a protection of workers law 02 December 2021 Retail trade union Usdaw welcomes the Government accepting the need for retail workers to have specific legal protection from violence at work.
