Avonmouth Evri fire: Usdaw is working with the company on safety at the site

Date: 17 April 2024 Distribution trade union Usdaw will be working with the company to review safety and fire prevention measures after a blaze at the Evri parcel delivery depot on Boundary Road in Avonmouth, Bristol.
Mark Todd – Usdaw National Officer says: “Following a fire at the Avonmouth Evri depot, we are pleased to hear that all staff are unharmed. Usdaw workplace reps will now be seeking to establish the cause of the fire and what actions can be taken to prevent a future incident. In the meantime, we will be working with the company to get the site back to normal working with minimum disruption.”

Nej Darej – Usdaw Area Organiser says: “Our members are grateful to the fire service for their prompt response and for bringing the fire under control. Such an incident is clearly worrying for staff and we are obviously pleased that nobody was injured in this incident. We are supporting our members as the site recovers from this and investigating what further safety measures are needed.”
