Keep Your Cool – Respect for Shopworkers Week

This year’s Respect for Shopworkers week took place on 13-19 November.

Every year, as part of the Freedom From Fear Campaign, Usdaw reps run stalls to encourage the public to “Keep Your Cool” and remember that abuse is not part of the job.

Stocked with free merchandise, these stalls aim to get across a serious message in a light-hearted way. They play a big part in the Freedom From Fear campaign, as they take the message out of the staffroom and into the streets.

If you want to get involved, the best way to do so is to hold a stall either at the front of your store or in your local high street. If you can’t do that, you could hold a stall in your canteen to help get your colleagues engaged, or you could spend an hour running a “Lite” campaign.

Don’t forget to promote the event on social media. Share your pictures, let people know why you’re taking part, and help spread the message of Respect Week. Remember to use #Respect17 in your posts.
