Keep Sunday Special

Support the Keep Sunday Special campaign and oppose the changes to existing Sunday trading laws

Keep Sunday Special

We’ve seen Sunday Trading has made the headlines again, with the Conservative government again floating the idea that Sunday Trading laws should be scrapped.

We all want to support the high street and retail sector to recover after Covid-19, but we don’t believe this will be achieved by asking retail workers to make more sacrifices, and work longer hours on Sundays.

What do Sundays mean to you?

Usdaw has opposed plans from Belfast City Council over the past few years to open shops for longer on Sundays.

The Council are currently consulting the public on how to improve the public’s experience of Sundays in Belfast. Once again, longer shop opening hours are part of the plans. The outcome of this consultation is likely to affect people right across Northern Ireland.

We need to hear from you in order to prevent this from happening. Please share your views in our survey and tell us what Sundays mean to you.
