The shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw is celebrating 125 years of improving working lives and winning for members. Part of the celebrations is a nationwide bus tour that continues in Newcastle and Sunderland next week (14 - 16 June).

At a joint BIS and DWP select committee hearing today a number of allegations were made by current and former key players in BHS about the past, but the shopworkers trade union Usdaw is calling for a focus on securing jobs and establishing a viable future for the company to stave off liquidation.

The shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw is celebrating 125 years of improving working lives and winning for members. Part of the celebrations is a nationwide bus tour that is being kicked off in Aberdeen tomorrow (Saturday 4 June) and touring Scotland for the coming week.

Usdaw members are devastated by Müller Milk and Ingredients decision to close Aberdeen and East Kilbride operations

Following a review of its Scottish dairy operation, Müller Milk and Ingredients announced proposals to close its dairy operations at its East Kilbride and Aberdeen sites earlier this year. Today, the Company has confirmed its decision to close both sites with the potential loss of 225 jobs.

Usdaw calls on M&S to involve the union in helping to revive the business

Usdaw has called on Marks and Spencer to open talks with the shopworkers trade union about proposed changes to terms and conditions of employment and possible stores closures. Usdaw is the trade union for M&S staff, but the company refuses to give recognition.
