Young Labour
What is Young Labour?
Young Labour is the youth
wing of the Labour Party and home for progressive young people. All
members of the Labour Party aged 14 to 26 are automatically members
of Young Labour. Being part of Young Labour is a great way to get
involved in politics and meet like minded people who share your
values.
Young Labour Groups organise
regular socials, campaigns days and other events as well as taking
part in other Labour Party regional and national conferences.
Young Labour and Usdaw
Usdaw supports Young Labour
and encourages its young members to join the Labour Party and get
involved in local Young Labour activities. Usdaw also works with
Young Labour at a national level, sending a delegation to Young
Labour Conference and currently has a representative on the Young
Labour National Committee. In order for Young Labour and the Labour
Party in general to take action on the issues affecting young
workers, you need to play your part in making sure that the voices
of young Usdaw members are heard loud and clear.
Getting involved with Young Labour in your
area
Young Labour is organised
into local Young Labour Groups. These are similar to your local
Constituency Labour Party but may cover a slightly different area
and are exclusively for Labour members aged 26 and under. To find
out if there is a Young Labour Group covering your area, or for
support in setting one up, please contact Young Labour nationally
at www.younglabour.org.uk/contact
or your regional office at www.labour.org.uk/links
