TUC LGBT+ Conference: Usdaw tackles hate crime and hate speech

Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw has a delegation of members attending the Trades Union Congress (TUC) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Plus (LGBT+) Conference, where they will be tackling deep concerns about a significant growth in hate crimes and hate speech. The conference takes place in Congress House, London and starts tomorrow.

Unions welcome Unilever's commitment to the TUC's Dying to Work charter

Usdaw, Unite and the GMB have welcomed Unilever adding their name to a charter aimed at helping employees who become terminally ill at work and protecting their rights at work. The formal signing of the charter took place on 20 June 2019 at Port Sunlight.

South Derbyshire Müller plant closure confirmed - a devastating blow for a loyal workforce says Usdaw

Müller Milk and Ingredients, one of the UK’s largest dairy producers, has today confirmed plans to close their Foston site in South Derbyshire. This puts 223 jobs at risk of redundancy, with operations likely to cease by the end of the year.

Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw has today responded to the Government’s ‘call for evidence’ by telling the Home Office that 80% of shopworkers believe violence and abuse are getting worse and nearly two-thirds have been victims of a physical or verbal attack.
