Labour's Green Prosperity Plan welcomed by Usdaw

Usdaw has welcomed the ongoing commitment from Keir Starmer to Labour’s existing policies announced through the Green Prosperity Plan to deliver clean power by 2030. Keir Starmer has today announced for the first time that Labour will capitalise £8.3bn to switch on GB Energy, enabling investment in clean energy as part of a Local Power Plan for local communities.

Kellogg’s propose the closure of their Manchester manufacturing site – Usdaw to enter consultation talks

Breakfast food manufacturer Kellogg’s has today announced that they propose to close their iconic Manchester site, based in Trafford Park. Usdaw represents production workers at the plant and will now enter into consultation talks over the proposed 2026 closure, which could impact 360 directly employed staff.

Eligible households are set to receive £299 between February 6 and 22, it is the final payment of three.
