Daniel Adams - Usdaw National Officer says: “For our members at the Leeds site, who have continued to work throughout the coronavirus pandemic, this news will come as a cruel blow given the extraordinary commitment and efforts that they have given during this time. We expect Unilever to live up to its public statements to be an employer committed to sustainable growth, with a sense of purpose, which positively contributes to the communities in which it operates.
“Usdaw will now enter into a meaningful consultation process with Unilever to interrogate the business case, explore all alternatives and seek to avoid compulsory redundancies wherever possible.”
