Fox's Glacier Mints plant under threat of closure - Usdaw statement

Date: 28 February 2019 Tangerine Confectionery and Big Bear Confectionery, both owned by Valeo Foods Group, have informed Usdaw and their staff of plans to merge. The proposal includes the closure of the Big Bear Leicester site.
Alex Fraser – Usdaw Area Organiser says: “This is devastating news for the staff who are obviously very upset. It would also a blow for Leicester to lose the iconic Fox's Glacier Mints brand, which is in its centenary year.

“We will now enter into meaningful consultation talks with the company, where we will examine the business case for the closure of this site. In the meantime we are providing our members with the support, advice and representation they require at this very difficult time.”
