Dave Gill – Usdaw National Officer says: “It’s a tough time for retail staff at the moment. They are providing an essential service, that we all rely on, and they deserve our support, respect and appreciation. So we very much welcome Sainsbury’s/Argos recognition of the work they are doing in difficult times.
“We continue to work with Sainsbury’s/Argos management to improve their stores and procedures to help protect staff. We also call on customers to stay calm, respect shopworkers and practice the necessary hygiene measures to help limit the spread of the virus. We all have to work together to get through this crisis.”
