World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) was established in 2003 and is held every year on September 10.
It is organized by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP). The World Health Organisation (WHO) has been co-sponsor of the day.
The aim is to reach national organisations, governments and the general public, giving a singular message that suicide can be prevented.
