Joanne Thomas - Usdaw general secretary says: "The victims of the appalling acts of Epstein and his associates are foremost in our minds. Tackling violence against women and girls must remain an essential priority for us all.

"In the light of the latest evidence Keir Starmer rightly removed Mandelson. Lasting lessons on scrutiny and governance should be learned from these events.

"Labour must now get on with the job of governing and continuing to deliver the change working people voted for, by tackling the cost of living and helping to make work pay with a new deal for workers."
