Wear Red Day 2025
When & where
Date: 24 October 2025
Location: Nationwide
On National Wear Red Day, 24 October, we are joining together with the anti-racism educational football charity ‘Show Racism the Red Card’, to ask everyone to wear red to show their opposition to racism.
In previous years Usdaw reps and members have raised hundreds of pounds for Show Racism the Red Card enabling them to continue with their vital work to educate against racism and highlight the harm it causes.
You can join in by wearing something red on 24 October and donating £1 to Show Racism the Red Card.
If your workplace has a staff uniform, you and your colleagues can still take part by wearing something subtle – red socks, a red hair clip, a red hankie in your pocket – you don’t have to be dressed in red from top to toe!
Every person and every penny counts. Join in. Just wear RED wherever you are and text RED to 70470 to give £1 (Text RED5 to give £5, Red10 to give £10) to Show Racism the Red Card.
Share your selfie on social media with #Usdaw and #WRD25, don't forget to tag @Usdawunion.

Who are Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC)?
SRtRC is an anti-racism education charity set up in 1996.
The charity uses the high-profile status of football and football players to help tackle racism in society using education. Working in schools throughout England, Scotland and Wales they deliver ant-racism workshops to more than 50,000 young people and 6,000 adults every year to make Britain a safer place to live.
Usdaw is proud to work closely with them and they have supported a number of anti-racism campaigns in Usdaw workplaces and spoken at conferences, events and rep schools.
Their work is crucial to challenging racist attitudes in society and breaking down barriers within communities.
