BCM Fareva industrial action suspended - Usdaw to ballot members on a new pay offer

Date: 14 December 2020 Following the vote of members at BCM Fareva in favour of industrial action, the union requested a further meeting with the Company, to once again seek a negotiated resolution to the dispute. At this meeting, BCM Fareva tabled an offer, which means the industrial action planned for 16 and 17 December has been suspended, pending a ballot of members on this offer.
Daniel Adams - Usdaw National Officer says “Throughout the 2020 pay review we have been clear and consistent that we wanted to see a negotiated solution, but that a pay freeze for key workers at a time like this was simply unacceptable.

“I am pleased that BCM Fareva agreed to further discussions and has tabled an offer that we can put to members in the upcoming ballot. As such, we have suspended our planned industrial action on 16 and 17 December, pending the outcome of that ballot.

“I would like to thank all members at BCM Fareva, the Senior Stewards on site and local MPs Alex Norris and Lilian Greenwood for their engagement and support during this process.”
