David Gill – Usdaw National Officer says: “We’ve had a good initial discussion with the administrators and I look forward to many more meetings as they keep staff representatives fully informed and we work together to try to turn around the company.
“We understand there are a number of bidders seeking to acquire parts of BHS and we would welcome a serious buyer that wants to run the business as a going concern and secure jobs. We must guard against the company suffering a death by a thousand cuts, with successive owners asset stripping the business, as happened at Ethel Austin and Kwik Save.
“We continue to provide the advice, support and representation that our members require at this difficult and worrying time.”
