Sainsbury's proposes the closure of an East London fulfilment centre - Usdaw will enter into consultation talks

Date: 03 March 2021 Retail trade union Usdaw has been informed by supermarket giant Sainsbury’s that they plan to close an online fulfilment centre in Bromley-by-Bow, East London, which puts 650 roles at risk of redundancy.
Jo Luckett – Usdaw Area Organiser says: “This is devastating news for our members at the site. We will now enter into meaningful consultation talks with the company, where we will interrogate the business case for this proposed closure. In the meantime we are providing our members with the advice, support and representation they need at this difficult time.”
