Paddy Lillis – Usdaw General Secretary says: “We are proud to have supported Liam for Mayor, delighted that he has been selected and look forward to helping him get elected. With a Conservative Government already threatening to reduce workers’ rights, it’s more important than ever that Labour politicians work with trade unions to protect workers.
“Liam’s manifesto for workers promises to put unions at the heart of his work as Mayor by: drawing up a Mayor’s Charter for Good Work to encourage local employers to follow best employment practice; putting UnionLearn at the heart of education services in the area, and making the West Midlands Britain’s first real Living Wage region.
“The West Midlands need a mayor who will work every day to ensure that the concerns of working people and their families are addressed. Liam and Labour will deliver that.”
