Usdaw welcomes CMA approval of the Co-op Group's purchase of Nisa

Date: 23 April 2018 Shopworkers’ trade union Usdaw has welcomed the news that the Competition and Markets Authority has approved the purchase of Nisa Retail Limited by the Co-op Group. The next step will be to get court approval.
John Gorle – Usdaw National Officer says: “We welcome the decision of the CMA and believe that this acquisition will strengthen the Co-op brand. We are particularly pleased that the CMA did not require any stores to be sold as a part of their approval. That’s a decision that should secure the jobs of shopworkers on both sides of the deal.”
