Only Labour understands that insecurity at work costs us all says Usdaw

Date: 12 September 2017 The Trade Union Congress today welcomed Rt Hon Jeremy Corbyn MP, Leader of the Labour Party, to their annual gathering in Brighton.

Addressing delegates he set out the principles that the Labour and Trade Union Movement are rooted in, the advances a future Labour Government would make for working people and urged workers to join a trade union.

John Hannett – Usdaw General Secretary says: “It is clear that only Labour understands the real costs of insecure employment, not just on individual workers, but to wider society through under-employment and lost productivity.

“You cannot trust the Tories on rights at work, so it is right to say that the most important thing any worker can do is join a trade union and we desperately need a Labour Government that will protect and enhance workers’ rights.”
