Addressing delegates he set out the principles that the Labour and Trade Union Movement are rooted in, the advances a future Labour Government would make for working people and urged workers to join a trade union.
John Hannett – Usdaw General Secretary says: “It is clear that only Labour understands the real costs of insecure employment, not just on individual workers, but to wider society through under-employment and lost productivity.
“You cannot trust the Tories on rights at work, so it is right to say that the most important thing any worker can do is join a trade union and we desperately need a Labour Government that will protect and enhance workers’ rights.”
