Palmer & Harvey update - Usdaw seeking a protective award

Date: 01 December 2017 Palmer & Harvey went into administration on 28 November, with administrators immediately announcing 2,500 redundancies.
Mark Todd – Usdaw National Officer says: “The devastating announcement that Palmer and Harvey had gone into administration was a massive shock to our members and is an extremely distressing situation for all concerned, especially in the run up to Christmas.

“We have written to all our members in Palmer and Harvey with advice and support in what is a very confusing and stressful time for them. Usdaw is experienced in dealing with similar situations and are doing everything we can to support members to find new work, and to receive all the financial support they are entitled to.

“We will be seeking a Protective Award against the administrators, on the basis of a failure to meaningfully consult.”

Usdaw has launched a section of our website with job vacancy information and the latest news to keep members up to date in what is a very complicated and fast-moving situation: www.usdaw.org.uk/palmerandharvey
