British Safety Council (BSC)
Europe's largest independent occupational health and safety organisation. Campaigns for higher safety standards at work and provides training, risk management, auditing, advisory and assessment programmes and publications.

Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS)
Canada's National centre for occupational health and safety information. It has a worldwide reputation as an innovative, expert occupational health and safety resource.

Directory of Sites in Occupational and Environmental Health
Wide-ranging directory of useful sources on occupational health. Not trade union oriented but still interesting

European Agency for Safety and Health at Work
The EU's website on H&S with details of European Week campaigns, factsheets and advice on a range of topics.

European Trade Union Institute for Research, Education and Health and Safety
The ETUI-REHS was formed by the European TUC from three separate groups including the TUTB - which carries out research on H&S for the ETUC and publishes reports on specific topics and a regular bulletin.

Hazards
Excellent site written for union safety reps with lots of international information and the TUC-backed "Hazards" magazine

Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
The website of the regulatory body for health and safety. Lots of useful pages on specific hazarsd and industries

Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
Europe's leading body representing safety and health professionals, with more than 24,000 members. IOSH, The Grange, Highfield Drive, Wigston, Leics LE18 1NN Tel: 0116 257 3100 Fax: 0116 257 3101.

International Labour Organisation (ILO) Safety and Health at Work
ILO's Safety website's primary objectives are to create worldwide awareness of the dimensions and consequences of work-related accidents, injuries and diseases;

International Labour Organisation Encyclopedia
ILO's Encyclopaedia of Occupational Health and Safety contains detailed technical information on a wide range of hazards.

Occupational and Environment Diseases’ Association
Charity that gives support and guidance for absestos victims and their families.

Risks
RISKS is the TUC's weekly online health and safety bulletin and its free! Register for national and international trade union news on H&S delivered direct to your inbox.

Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)
A charity that promotes safety in all areas of life, including road safety and occupational safety.

Spot the hazards in the virtual supermarket. Just for fun, pick a wrong answer to see what happens. Then try the virtual office and the virtual hotel as well!

TUC H&S
The TUC's H&S web pages contain a vast amount of information. Use the alphabetical index down the left hand side of the screen to find your way through it.

The Occupational Road Safety Alliance
An umbrella group of organisations dedicated to improving the management of occupational road risk. Mary Watkins of Prospect represents the TUC on the alliance.

UK National Work Stress Network
The website for the trade union backed UK National Stress Network offers advice, information and contacts.

US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
NIOSH is the federal US agency that advises on the prevention of work-related disease and injury. Information on a wide range of chemical, electrical, ergonomic and other hazards from a US perspective.

US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
The US "equivalent" to the HSE. Useful advice on common hazards but don't forget the legal system is totally different and workplaces practices often vary as well.

A source for information and contacts dealing with your work and your health.
