Money for learning

Time to take up something new? Got a computer but don’t know how to switch it on? Wish you could fix it yourself? Want to learn some Spanish for the holidays? ... but the cost puts you off? Individual Learning Accounts could be the answer ...

What is an Individual Learning Account?

  • £200 a year for you to pay for learning of your choice
  • It is a Learning Token to give to whoever is providing your course
  • Available to everyone aged 18 or over who stays in Scotland
  • You pay £10 and the voucher covers the rest up to the £200 maximum
  • Not a 'one-off' ... another £200 after a year for more learning

How do I get one?

It's just a phone call away! Call 0808 100 1090 for friendly help and advice every step of the way.

What do Usdaw members say about ILAs?

"An ILA is another chance for education if we missed out the first time round."
Mhairi Ross, Tesco Inverness

"I have always wanted to do sign language. With my ILA that will be possible. My course is already booked."
Val Bartlett, Morrisons Glasgow

"The insides of computers ... that's what I want to know more about. I won't have to pay now that I have my ILA."
Frank Christie, Macraes Fraserburgh

"I organised an ILA Awareness day in-store with Margaret Fleming, Usdaw's Lifelong Learning Project Worker. There was a great response - members could not believe that this £200 was available for them. As for me I am signed up to do a European Computer Driving Licence. When I phoned they were able to tell me when and where the next local course was."
Mike Peat, Sainsbury Dundee

ILAs are for you. Don't miss this opportunity, take out an ILA now!
