Dig deep online

15 August 2004

You can now track 200 years of trade union history and research major events like the General Strike and the struggle of the East End match workers on an award-winning website created by London Metropolitan University and the TUC.

The Union makes us strong:TUC history online consists of original learning materials digitised from the TUC Library Collections at London Metropolitan University.

“This is really important because it makes labour history available to people who’ve got an awful lot to learn from it and who, in their turn, will be making the labour history of tomorrow”, commented Labour veteran Tony Benn at the formal launch of the project in February. If you are interested in the history of the trade union movement visit the website: www.unionhistory.info
