Lifelong Learning... getting the best out of members14 July 2001Lifelong Learning was given a massive boost when hundreds of members dropped in for a special open day at Reality in Wigan recently. Learning Rep Eric Knowles, who helped organise the day, said: "We had a tremendous response with staff visiting the stands all day long. "We had Learning Reps and tutors on hand to explain what courses were available and explain the course content." Colleague and Learning Rep Karen Littler said: "Most people were interested in computer courses both for beginners and more advanced sessions - both will be available on site in our new Learning Centre. "Members also had the opportunity to take part in taster sessions which included flower arranging, music lessons and foreign languages. "Wigan and Leigh College provided an Internet Simulator, which proved very popular. "Other courses on offer include computing, basic skills and sign language - there's something there for everyone."
