Coventry on target

Members at the Tesco, Cross Point Extra store in Coventry have formed an orderly queue to sign up for Check Out learning.
“We held a very successful roadshow in the store in May,” said Usdaw project worker Ed Leach. “And I’m delighted to say we now have 12 learners on our first ‘Get on With IT’ computer course with another one due to start in the next few weeks.
“The event, which ran all the way through until 3am, was fun, different and very positive. We had 58 learning questionnaires completed and staff took part in a variety of taster sessions over the course of the day including Indian head massage and flower arranging.
“There’s a great team of reps at the store and our three ULRs are doing a fantastic job supporting and encouraging staff to get back into learning to improve their skills, self-confidence and career opportunities.”
