Usdaws Vicky Nelson Wins Major Award during Adult Learners Week

Usdaw Reps organised events at over 43 workplaces during Adult Learners’ Week. From winning awards and signing Learning Agreements, to taster sessions and Indian head massage, all the events had one theme – to promote adult learning and to sign up learners.

Highlights of the week included:

• Vicky Nelson, an Usdaw Mobile Union Learning Rep in Tesco Portobello Road receiving a national Learning Works Award in recognition of her achievements in learning and in encouraging others to learn.
• Usdaw’s General Secretary John Hannett signed two learning Agreements with two major employers – Kelloggs and First Milk in Wrexham.
• Events in Distribution Centres across the country including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Boots, CRL and Littlewoods/Shop Direct
• Learning promotions in stores across the country – including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. In Morrisons, at Anchor Mills in Scotland 13 new Usdaw members were signed up!
