National Learning Agreement - Northern Foods
This learning agreement is a joint national agreement between the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU), the Transport and General Workers Union (T&GWU), the Union of Shop Distributive and Allied Workers (Usdaw) and Northern Foods. Northern Foods plc is one of the UKs leading food producers employing approximately 20,500 members of staff in sites across the UK and Eire.
The policy covers paid time off for Skills for Life learning including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) up to NVQ L Level 2 and matched time off for IT and other courses that indirectly contribute to the individual’s job. It also includes terms of reference for both national and local learning committees and guidelines for setting up and running a site Learning Fund.
