Boots manufacturing - terms of reference for a workplace Learning Committee
This agreement covers approximately 900 of the 1200 staff employed at the Boots Manufacturing site in Nottingham. The site produces toiletries for Boots the Chemist. The joint policy includes terms of reference for a workplace Learning Committee.
The current Logistics steering group is a joint forum of 5 union learning reps and 3 nominated managers/supervisors from Logistics areas, and a nominated member of the HR department.
In addition, the Steering Group will co-opt people with specific expertise as needed, e.g. representative from local college, TUC project worker, USDAW and Amicus specialists, Learning & Skills Council.
Representatives from BM and BHI management and ULR’s will sit on this Steering Group to represent the interests of BM and BHI employees. The manufacturing site ULR coordinators will sit on the steering group, there will also be provision for a ULR from D10 to attend as well as from Healthcare (once implemented in D95, D6 and D106). Attendance of the ULR’s from each respective area will be determined by rota. A space will also be allocated for the Chief Shop Steward to attend. There will be one management representative, sitting on the steering group representing all factories.
