Cavaghan and Gray - Learning in Partnership
This agreement is a local agreement covering the Cavaghan and Gray site at Carlisle. The site manufactures products including potato topped pies, quiches, recipe dishes and party foods, mainly for Marks & Spencer. There are approximately 900 members of staff. The joint policy includes terms of reference for a workplace Learning Committee and guidelines for setting up and running a site Learning Fund, which the company make regular contributions to.
Both Cavaghan & Gray Ltd and USDAW are committed to working in partnership to promote and support Lifelong Learning and ensure equality of access to learning opportunities. Both parties will encourage staff to access learning opportunities, which will enable each individual to fulfil his or her potential. This will be achieved by continuing improvement through development of awareness and improved individual performance, innovation, training and effective communication.
