Lifelong Learning Initiative, Co-op
A partnership between Ipswich and Norwich Co-operative Society Limited and Usdaw.
In order to support the Society to achieve its business objectives, we aim to create a culture where learning is valued as one of the Society's competitive advantages.
The Society recognises the challenges it faces in an ever changing market place and believes that developing a successful co-operative business can best be achieved by employees who are continually learning and developing themselves. We believe that where employees act together through groups such as the Trade Union, Usdaw, they are applying the value of self-help and self-responsibility to their own learning and development which will benefit both the individual and the Society. In a world of work that is continually changing, the best security employees can have is the possibility of continually developing their skills and talents.
The Society and Usdaw are therefore committed to encouraging and supporting a culture of learning and continual personal development. Working together we believe that we can pool our knowledge on the learning initiatives available and so create more opportunities for employees to increase their knowledge and develop new skills. Working together we can be more effective in promoting and supporting lifelong learning for our employees.
