Home Lifelong Learning Learning Agreements Joint Learning Policies
Boots Logistics, Unipart, Tibbett & Britten and PEFM
This agreement covers the Lifelong Learning pilot running in Boots Logistics, Unipart, Tibbett and Britten and PEFM. This agreement will be reviewed in the event of a wider rollout of Lifelong Learning to other areas of The Boots Company.
This pilot is owned by the Logistics Partnership Group and is being implemented as a joint initiative between Usdaw and Boots through a steering group of Union Learning Representatives and logistics management representatives.
Lifelong Learning means that learning does not have to stop when you leave school. It is aimed at making learning easier to access and to run courses to suit individual needs. Lifelong Learning is about learning new skills, which could be job related or a completely new challenge, which in the long term give you confidence, and can make you more adaptable to change. It can also make you more employable and give you job security. The ever-changing nature of work means we all need to update our existing skills and learn new skills on an ongoing basis.
Usdaw, Boots Logistics, Unipart, Tibbett and Britten and PEFM believe that personal and career development complements job-specific training and development, and are committed to making lifelong learning as accessible as possible for all employees.
Boots Logistics, Unipart, Tibbett and Britten and PEFM acknowledge and will support the new and developing role of the Trade Union Learning Representatives (ULR) in the policy, planning, implementation and continuous improvement to develop training and learning for all employees.
