Home Learning in Scotland Making it affordable Individual Learning Account Scotland

Individual Learning Account Scotland

The Scottish Executive launched a successor to individual learning accounts (ILAs) in January 2004.

The new scheme will be known as ILA Scotland. If you live in Scotland it will be available for summer 2004 but will be restricted to those on incomes of less than £15,000 a year. A more universal scheme, focusing initially on those who need basic qualifications and ICT skills, will be introduced from April 2005.

Learners can claim up to £200 a year to fund a course of their choice and have to contribute £10 of their own money.  Further information will be posted as it becomes available.
