Legal Plus is a key part of our value to members

Usdaw provides a great range of legal
services which have got better and
better over the years. Usdaw Legal
Plus is a service to be proud of.
At the ADM I was delighted to
announce the launch of FirstCall Usdaw
– yet another Legal Plus improvement.
FirstCall Usdaw is a freephone accident
and injury claim line which members
can access 24/7, every day of the
year. This is a modern service for
a modern union.
From now on members will be able
to lodge their injury claim by simply
making a phone call – no fuss – no
forms – no delay.
Delivering Legal Plus is about team
work and the Usdaw reps are the
backbone of that team. We need your
help to launch FirstCall Usdaw and
get the message to members.
Please make sure that your members
continue to report their accidents and
near misses to you so that you can
investigate them, ensure that they
are accurately recorded in the Accident
Book and complete an accident
investigation report, for example Usdaw
HS3 form. Reps should continue to use
the HS3 forms and/or the HS2 forms to
alert management of hazards and to
work through your Health and Safety
Committees and other procedures to
reduce the risks and prevent future
accidents. This information will be
important in winning the accident claims
of your members and you should make
it available to our Solicitors.
FirstCall Usdaw is a really exciting new
development and with your help we will
ensure that every member gets to know
about the new service.
