Safety Net Journal Issue 8

Too much - too often - too painful

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) are the leading cause of work-related ill health in this country. TUC-backed Hazards magazine is running a campaign on the risk of MSD from repetitive work.

Repeat after me
Repeat after me

The combination of prolonged repeated physical effort, lack of rest breaks and the psychological pressure to keep on working at all costs can be a vicious cocktail.

As part of the campaign Hazards provides some useful resources to help health and safety reps to identify the risky jobs in their workplace. They have also produced a 'Repeat After Me' poster to help to get the message across. To find out more please go to www.hazards.org/strains/index.htm.
