Free help for smokers who want to quit
From the 1st July England will be the last country in the UK to ban smoking in public enclosed places. The Department of Health is offering a range of free services to smokers who want to try to give up.
They are running a new TV campaign showing the different, and often humorous, ways smokers can get rid of their last packet of cigarettes, including attaching them to a rocket or throwing them into a wood chipper. The message is that the NHS offers a range of help to smokers who want to quit. Details area available at http://www.gosmokefree.co.uk/
There is a also a freephone helpline for smokers who want to discuss their options - 0800 169 0 169.
The Smokefree England website has useful information such as a guide on how the change in the law will affect us. There is information for employers, businesses and individuals and links to the advice to help people stop smoking. http://www.smokefreeengland.co.uk/
