Mesothelioma Action Day

By Tony Larkin

The second Mesothelioma Action Day will be held on 27th February 2007, as well as a parliamentary reception at the House of Commons, there will be events all over the country.

Giant BBC TV screens in Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham will screen a purpose produced video to raise awareness of the mesothelioma epidemic that is sweeping the country. It will be shown throughout the day (27th February).

The aim of the day is to inform people of this savage killer by highlighting the rising death toll from asbestos cancers, the lack of government funding for treatment and the under-estimated risk from relatively small asbestos exposures.

More detailed information about events can be found at the International Ban Asbestos Secretariat: www.btinternet.com/~ibas/Frames/f_lka_amd_announce_2007.htm
