Safety Net Journal Issue 3

New H&S website aimed at young workers

By Tony Larkin

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has launched a free online resource to help teenagers prepare for their first taste of work.

The intention of the interactive site is to let young people have some fun whilst learning serious health and safety lessons.

With young people as the theme for this year's European Health and Safety Week, IOSH President Neil Budworth said 'We wanted to get teenagers thinking about health and safety before they start work. But we also want the learning to be fun, interesting and long-lasting'.

Thehttp://www.wiseup2work.co.uk/site has games, a forum, wallpapers and many other interesting items to catch the attention of younger people.

To promote the site IOSH is also running a competition with prizes including iPods and VIP visits.
