Welcome to the first SafetyNet of 2010. There's a lot happening on H&S this year. For starters, we have information on how Usdaw reps can get involved in the HSE's Shattered Lives campaign, news on the rise in violence to shop workers, advice on protecting lone workers and advance notice of International Workers Memorial Day.

Welcome to the Sept/Oct issue of SafetyNet. Some disappointing news on our campaign for a maximum workplace temperature. But also good news on free access to HSE publications and some useful HSE tools for health and safety reps to use. Information too on a major campaign to persuade the Government to introduce Directors' duties and on International Workers Memorial Day.

This issue of our e-newsletter contains information on Government consultations on plans to change the GP sick note system and on plans to officially recognise Workers Memorial Day. There's also good news about HSE plan to make their publications free on their website and on recognition of the good work that Usdaw reps do. If you work in food and drink manufacture there are details of the national H&S conference and the chance to enter for an award. And we have the details for this year's Hazards Conference in Manchester.

Welcome to the first SafetyNet of 2009. We are looking for safety reps to get involved in HSE's slips and trips campaign, Shattered Lives. The TUC is looking for nominations for its safety rep award and is asking for help with its campaign on hot workplaces. News also on research on RSI prevention, on the succes of the food industry Recipe for Safety programme and on guidance for Local Authority inspectors on worker involvement.

Welcome to the autumn issue of SafetyNet. Stories include details of the European health and safety campaign on risk assessment, new HSE web pages on the retail industry and their focus on slips and trips, a checklist from HSE on workplace vehicles and a new HSE inspection guide on flour dust in in-store bakeries. We've also got news of a major campaign on asbestos, TUC advice on workplace health promotion and Usdaw's own guide for health and safety reps in warehouses.

Welcome to the International Workers' Memorial Day edition of SafetyNet. We have news about WMD itself plus a major new Government initiative on work and health. There are also up to date stories and information about a conference for reps in the food and dairy industries.

Welcome to the fourth SafetyNet newsletter. In this edition we have details of the European Week for Safety and Health at work with its young workers theme; the HSE Better Backs campaign aimed at reducing the misery of backpain at work and TUC National Inspection Day on 25 October. There are plenty of ideas for reps to get involved with these campaigns. We also have news of important changes to fire safety laws and on migrant workers and on welfare regulations.

Welcome to the third edition of SafetyNet. In this issue we report on new advice from the HSE on work in hot conditions, a new website aimed at young workers, and a startling report on the decline in HSE inspections. There is advance notice of a food industry H&S conference in October. And we are asking reps to help with a food industry campaign on back injuries and by responding to an HSC consultation on safety rep rights.
