Inspection resources for European H&S Week - 22 to 26 October

05 October 2007

HSE has added inspection checklists for union health and safety reps to its European Health and Safety Week web pages.

Following on from last year's commitment to work with union health and safety reps, the HSE has added new resources for union health and safety reps to its web pages for European Health and Safety Week. European Week runs from 22 to 26 October. The theme this year is musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace such as back pain and upper limb disorders. The theme is particularly appropriate for Usdaw members because of the work they do. Tesco has arranged its health and safety campaign on manual handling to link in with European Week.

The resources for health and safety reps on the HSE web pages include

  • Checklist on upper limb disorders for workplace assessments of repetitive handling tasks.

  • VDU workstation checklist

  • Manual handling checklist

  • Manual handling assessment charts

  • Body mapping tool

  • Slip assessment tool.
