Don’t be a drag, go smoke-free.

18 January 2007

The NHS has set up a website - Smokefree England - giving information about the forthcoming ban on smoking in work and public places.

The ban starts in England at 6am on Sunday 1st July 2007 and covers all workplaces and substantially enclosed public areas. Any Usdaw reps who are in the middle of negotiations with employers over the introduction of the ban or who simply wish to gather information about it or participate in a smooth transition to the big day should visit: http://www.smokefreeengland.co.uk/.

This advice can be used by reps in conjunction with the TUC document ‘Negotiating smoke free workplaces a guide for union representatives’
