HSE - The safety reps' friend

04 August 2006

The Health and Safety Executive has issued a briefing on the steps it is taking to work more closely with trades unions and safety reps.

The briefing is on the safety representatives section of the workers' web pages on the HSE website.

It states that trade unions are key stakeholders for HSE and lists some of the things that have been done and are being done in partnership with unions. It describes the work that HSE is doing with theta to develop the worker involvement programme and the changes that have been made, for example, to the guidance the HSE produces to include advice about worker involvement and about safety reps. Some of it is very much work in progress, for example the current consultation on changes to the safety rep regulations.
