HSE guides to be free

After years of campaigning by the trades unions, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are to give free access to most of their priced publications from early 2007.
They will be available online to anyone with internet access and will be a great asset to all Usdaw safety reps.
Having now agreed ‘in principle’ to allow free access via the internet, unions will push HSE for safety reps without internet access to get hard copies made available.
Information contained within these publications, regulations, codes of practice and the like will be an invaluable tool for safety reps in their fight to make their workplaces safer.
