Health and safety forum is back in business
25 May 2006
After a short break to upgrade security on the site the Usdaw health and safety reps forum is up and running again.
The forum is a valuable resource to the union. It allows health and safety reps to exchange ideas and information to make workplaces safer for all Usdaw members.
Since its launch it has been busy with discussions on everything from Tesco H&S forums to work at height. However recently it had been the target of a massive spam attack as Doug Russell, H&S Officer, explains. "We had designed the forum to be as open and accessible as possible. Unfortunately this led to hundreds of spam messages that were putting reps off using it. Our web-designers have upgraded the site to stop the spam getting through. Anyone who visits the forum can see what's on there, but only registered users will be able to post new messages. We've kept the registration process as simple as we can. All you have to do is click on 'Log In' and then 'Not Registered? Click here to register now'. You will be asked for your username, password and e-mail address. You will be sent an e-mail to confirm that you are a genuine and once you click on the link in that e-mail you're in! We believe the forum is a great way of getting safety reps to talk to each other so if you're not registered, please sign on today."
