Academy2

23 July 2008

Academy2 will give fifteen of the union’s most experienced reps a golden opportunity to develop further.

“This new initiative, which is running for the first time this year, will help develop some of our best organisers who have already completed Academy1 and showed enough potential to make the step up,” said deputy general secretary Paddy Lillis.

“As with the first Academy they will be given excellent training and support to organise their own allocation.

“They will be using our excellent campaigns to organise in key workplaces, identifying new reps and helping to train, support and develop them.”

Academy2 2008: Peter Watson, Tracy Millard, Andy Hearn, Sharon Newson, Angie Walsh, Andrea Gallagher, Jacqueline Martin, Ian Scott, Angela Bethell, Janet Ryan (Tesco), Yarna Palmer (Palmer Harvey McLane), Maryann Matthews (Midlands Co op), Christopher Timms (Wincanton), Peter Devine (British Bakeries), Thomas Moran (Exel).
