Stand Down Star - Sorrell O’Connor22 February 2008Part-time Sainsbury’s rep Sorell O’Connor conquered her nerves when she tried her hand at being a stand down rep and surprised herself with the results. “It was a really rewarding experience and a major boost to my confidence,” said the 32 year-old from the Torquay store (pictured above, far left). “My area organiser Linda Riggs asked if I’d like to do some stand down in my own store. “I work 19 hours a week in the online shopping department and I have to admit I felt very apprehensive when I was first approached. “I realised doing stand down would take me way out of my comfort zone and I have to admit the nerves did kick in. But afer I talked it through with Linda these began to disappear. “Once I’d got myself organised and worked out my approach I soon relaxed.
