Everyone a winner

16 February 2007

Usdaw’s second national Organising Awards night played host to some of the union’s most dedicated and hard-working reps from across the UK.

The sparkling occasion was held at the exclusive Radisson Hotel at Manchester International Airport on January 20.

Eight national awards made up the ‘Usdaw Oscars’, which were presented to the winners in front of an audience of more than 90 nominees, officials, executive councillors and guest speakers from government and the TUC.

“This evening is all about recognising the achievements of our very best activists and the countless hours they put in,” said General Secretary John Hannett. “The same goes for all of our other thousands of reps without whom this union would not exist.

“Usdaw has always, and will always, place a high value on its reps and I thank each and every one of them for their commitment, perseverance, dedication and solidarity.”
