Tesco Gee Cross are Quick to Join

09 June 2005

Staff at a new Tesco Express store in Gee Cross, Hyde, Cheshire have been keen to join Usdaw after hearing the benefits reports Sarah France, Usdaw Organising Officer.

Tesco Express Gee Cross in Hyde Cheshire had no members present when I arrived on my first week on the Usdaw Organising Academy. The store had only been open 2 weeks. After speaking to non members on the night shift it quickly became aparent that they were all eager to join and were in desperate need to protect their rights within the workplace.

Members were eager to join and requested that I returned the following morning to see others in the store. After recruting about 85% of the staff I am now looking to return and help identify a shop steward to support the new membership within the store.

Good Luck to all at Tesco Gee Cross within your new roles.
